Aftercare Instructions
Always wash your hands before touching your eyebrows
1. Wash your eyebrows 2x a day, and apply Aquaphor ointment 3x a day for one week. Wash gently with the provided soap, rinse, blot dry with clean paper towel, then apply a thin, rice-grain amount of ointment. Washing should take place in the morning and in the evening, ointment after each washing, and an additional ointment application in the afternoon if your brows feel dry or itchy.
2. Three hours after your service, wash your brows for the first time.
3. Blot your new eyebrows with a clean tissue following your service if you are seeing lymph (clear fluid) build up on your brows.
4. Be very careful to not get water in the treated area when showering and washing your face. Wash your face carefully around your brows. Apply a thicker layer of ointment when showering as a barrier to protect them, then dab the excess off gently when you’re done.
5. No itching, no rubbing. To avoid infection and/or bald spots in the brow, it is important that you DO NOT pick or rub at the pigment that may start to peel or flake. Let this occur naturally.
6. Many brows will need 4-6 weeks to fully heal and for your skin to regenerate, and at that point the pigment will be its true tone. Your touch up will take place 6-12 weeks from now. It is completely normal and expected for you to come in for your touch up with some lost strokes and to have some patchiness. The touch up will fill in those spaces, and give you a chance to tweak the shape and/or go darker if they healed too light for you.
7. The look of you brows will go through many stages: they will appear very dark at first as the pigment sits at the surface of your skin, then dull after your skin has healed over the strokes, and in the days following this dullness the pigment will reemerge as your skin regenerates, and you will be left with your fully healed brows.
The following must be avoided during your week of healing: Increased sweating, practicing sports, swimming, hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi, sun tanning or salon tanning, any laser or chemical treatments or peels, and/or any creams containing RetinA or Glycolic Acid on the face. No picking, peeling, or scratching of the pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment. Don’t perform tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris. No smoking, driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles and NO makeup on your brows until they are done healing.
Once your brows are done healing:
You may use makeup in your healed brows to fill any patchiness while you wait for your touch up.
Use a wet q-tip to wipe out any foundation that you may get in your eyebrows. Foundation over your strokes will make them appear blurred and ashy.
Put sunscreen in your brows or wear a hat when you’ll be in the sun excessively; sun exposure will fade the pigment prematurely.
Avoid Retinols, anti-aging, and acne treatments in the brow area. These products work by turning your skin cells over quickly, which will fade your brows prematurely.
When the skin is open, there is always a risk of infection. Signs of infection include fever, red streaking, hot skin, puss, oozing, increasing pain in the wound, and/or swelling.
Please seek medical attention if you suspect you may have an infection.
